Challenges

Working with SCOUT Jam and Preserves was an exciting journey of ideas and teamwork. Their dedication to honest food and transparency allowed our team to create branding and packaging with heartfelt colors and inviting designs. We gave their brand a truly unique identity. The branding, logo design, and art direction were all crafted to tell a story of bounty, warmth, and goodness.

Project Synopsis

BODY & HAIR OILS

Inspired by African beauty rituals, this collection features essential oil blends in carrier oils native to South Africa, Namibia, Morocco, Egypt, and Madagascar for scalp and body.

OILS OF AFRICA

  • A dynamic campaign, product development, and visuals
  • Introduced body products to a predominantly hair-care community
  • Established a base on which to build body products within a hair-care platform.

Outcomes

  • Establish regional designs and develop a color scheme
  • Focus on themes relevant to the country and highlighted ingredients
  • Create a world for each Oil of Africa and develop an approach based on the people who would live in and love that world, and the product

Strategy

  • Creating a visually appealing 2 oz. bottle with just the right amount of information for the user
  • Finding patterns that were culturally relevant that our team could rift off of while being sensitive to meaning, beauty, and ritual.

Our team worked with The Mane Choice and MAV Beauty Brands to explore luxury beauty and African culture. Tasked with finding sustainable packaging and culturally meaningful designs, we focused on creating vibrant packaging that highlights the beauty rituals and benefits of African oils.

Let's Talk Coffee is a Christian-based coffee company that sells premium coffee
and offers handwritten Biblical quotes on each cup, community resources,
and encouragement to each patron.

Coffee

  • A highly functional app with real-time earthquake updates.
  • Improved user engagement and satisfaction.
  • Enhanced user safety through clear and timely alerts.

Outcomes

  • Developed a color palette for "calm" and then a visual theme for "coffee"
  • Focused on the visual needs of the coffee drinker as well as the Christian
  • Collaborated with the Predictquake team to align design with user needs.

  • Using non-traditional colors that convey "calm" for a coffee brand, while still inviting people to purchase coffee.
